Your health is everything. Without it your life is limited in what you can do, in how you can spend time with and interact with family and friends, and in reaching some goals. Having both good emotional and physical health should be our top priority.
I want to give you a simple tip to help you enjoy better health and wellness.
Do you realize that your diet has a major influence on not only your physical health but your emotional wellness too? Eating wrong foods can literally cause your hormonal levels to bounce around -I know you probably thought hormonal roller coasters ended with High School, but really, that was just the beginning!
We all are aware of how bad food can harm your physical health, but the things bad food can do to our emotions may be worse. As foods play with our blood sugar levels, add toxins in our bodies, it manipulates the functions of the endocrine system, which is why our hormones can go crazy, and we are likely to experience mood swings.
You might be thinking, "I don't have mood swings. And I don't know of that many people who have mood swings." And there's a reason for that.
Eating bad food leads you to eat even more bad food. As you feel the physical and emotional lowness, you then are extremely likely to choose to eat more food, selecting types that literally sedate your roller coaster of hormones and emotions with the chemicals it provides. Thus we continue to numb ourselves, and continue to harm our health.
This often plays a major role in why people quit and give up on diets, because they suddenly stop numbing themselves, or even their bodies have become addicted to that chemical payoff from bad food.
But, I don't want to make eating poor food to seem like an inescapable trap, or too hard to get out of. Honestly, I have seen in my own life, and in the life of many clients and friends, tremendous changes take place when one goes about changing their eating habits through the intuitive process.
The intuitive process, or "intuitive eating" is working with your mind, body and spirit to change your eating habits. It works because it creates alignment. Instead of fighting your body with your mind, as most do with diets, instead you are allowing your whole soul to cooperate and work together toward better health and happiness.
Most people treat their change in diets like they are plotting to kill the food in their pantry, as though it were some formidable enemy. Truth is, it doesn't get you the right results because the enemy is you, not your food. But, you've been living as an enemy of your own health and happiness for too long already, by the way you eat food. So, it's time to turn yourself from enemy to ally with intuitive eating.
